Due Diligence Lead Financial and Operational Review
Help us understand the business behind the numbers before we acquire it.
The role
Atlantis Trident Equity Ventures is seeking a Due Diligence Lead to review prospective acquisitions before Aaron Dancel steps in as operator. You will inspect the books, verify day-to-day operations and investigate the financial health, risks and liabilities of each business. Your work will give the acquisition team a clear, evidence-based view of what it is buying and what the operational transition will require.
You will lead the review and coordinate specialist accounting and legal input, bringing the findings together into a practical assessment for the acquisition and handover.
What you will do
- Lead pre-acquisition financial and operational diligence, from the initial information request through the final findings and handover.
- Reconcile bank activity to the books; assess revenue quality, cash flow, debt, working capital and the company's overall financial health.
- Verify how the business operates through records, management discussions and supporting evidence. Evaluate customer and vendor concentration, staffing, processes and dependence on the current owner.
- Investigate inconsistencies, business risks and potential liabilities. Identify evidence gaps and coordinate specialist accounting and legal reviews where needed.
- Present concise, actionable reports that distinguish verified facts from uncertainties and explain the implications for the acquisition decision and operational handover.
What you bring
- Around 5–8 years of relevant experience in financial due diligence, transaction advisory, audit or acquisition-related operational reviews.
- A track record of leading acquisition diligence and translating findings into practical recommendations for decision-makers.
- Strong bank-to-books reconciliation and analysis of revenue quality, cash flow, debt and working capital.
- The ability to evaluate operating processes, staffing, customer and vendor concentration, and owner dependence.
- Clear written and verbal communication, sound judgment and a disciplined approach to documenting evidence and unresolved questions.
- A degree in accounting or finance. CPA preferred; acquisition diligence experience remains essential.
